Accomplished Illinois DUI and Traffic Violations Lawyer
You're returning home from a social gathering with friends and family. You're thinking about the pleasant time you had, when your reverie is interrupted by a sudden flash of lights behind you. Before you know it, a stern voice commands you to step out of your vehicle.
What should you do? Equally important, what shouldn't you do? Before you say anything that can be used against you, speak with an experienced DUI attorney. In Illinois, contact the Law Offices of Donald J. Cosley. Our telephone number in Rolling Meadows is 847-353-3100.
At the Law Offices of Donald J. Cosley, we have considerable experience handling DUI matters and traffic violations. In over a decade of private practice, our attorney has litigated and negotiated hundreds of such cases.
DUI
If you're arrested for DUI, you'll face a two-track system. The administrative process relates to your driving privileges and a court proceeding will determine your guilt and assess criminal penalties.
If you're convicted of DUI, your license will be suspended for three to six months, depending on whether you submitted to a breath test. If this is your first DUI offense, you most likely won't face imprisonment.
Instead, first-time offenders without aggravating circumstances may receive a "supervision," under which their license is suspended, they must attend alcohol cessation classes, pay court costs and fines and avoid any new arrests for one year.
We represent first-time DUI offenders, repeat DUI offenders and those accused of aggravated DUI (such as being convicted of DUI without a license or with a suspended license).
We'll also represent you in administrative license reinstatement hearings. At such a hearing, we'll aim to have your driver's license returned. Alternatively, we'll strive to reduce the license suspension or revocation or get you limited driving privileges so you can get to work or school.
Traffic Violations
We represent drivers facing charges of:
- Driving with a suspended license
- Driving without a license
- Aggravated DUI
- Speeding
- Traffic tickets
- Running a red light
We also represent out-of-state residents who were ticketed while driving through the area. Often, we're able to take care of these matters without the out-of-state driver's physical presence.
If you received a speeding ticket or were charged with DUI, contact our Rolling Meadows office to schedule an appointment. Our telephone number is 847-253-3100.
